Ben Affleck et Matt Damon se retrouvent après Will Hunting dans cette comédie fantastique où deux anges déchus désirent retourner au paradis. Mais leurs actes pourraient bien entraîner des conséquences dramatiques sur Terre… L'idée de départ est plutôt amusante mais la réalisation traîne en longueur et les dialogues, trop bavards, finissent par lasser. La conception du DVD est réussie, avec, notamment, des menus attrayants. L'éditeur nous gratifie même du son Dolby digital 5.1 et du DTS sur les versions françaises et anglaises du film ! Les bruits d'ambiance sont ainsi parfaitement restitués. L'image, en cinémascope anamorphique 16/9, offre une belle profondeur. Les interviews proposées dans les bonus apportent un agréable complément à l'ensemble. La belle Salma Hayek y est d'ailleurs fière d'annoncer que son personnage révèle que Dieu est une femme ! We start out with an old man in front of a skeeball location getting the snot beat out of him, then a flash to the story. Evidently two ejected angels sent to Wisconsin for the duration have found a loophole that will allow them to return to Heaven unscathed. Seems that no one from above or below really wants this to happen. So several beings with their own agenda are coercing Bethany Sloane (Linda Fiorentino) to do their dirty work as she unknowingly is the only one qualified.

According to the Oxford Dictionary of the Christian Church, `The original meaning of the word was "that which seems good", and hence it was applied by classical authors as a technical term either to the distinctive tenets of the various philosophical schools or to the decrees of public authorities.'

So, what does this have to do with the movie? Ironic as it seems for such a bizarre film, it all turns on a minor dogmatic point

La bataille éternelle entre le Bien et le Mal a lieu dans le New Yersey à la fin du 20 siècle. Anges, démons, apôtres et prophètes dans un voyage à travers une Amérique cynique. Dogma n’est pas une comédie habituelle : dans cette fable surréaliste, ces personnages fantastiques et amusants sont prisonniers des absurdités de l’univers des humains. Achetez ce DVD et regardez-le en VO ! Un bon film, pas aussi connu qu'il devrait l'être.

Il s'avère important de commencer une critique d'un film mettant en scène Jay and Silent Bob par les précautions d'usage. Mettez votre esprit rigoureux et logique dans une poche, votre conception de la politesse et du civisme dans l'autre et laissez-vous aller, n'ayez en tête aucune envie particulière qui pourrait vous distraire une seconde ou deux de l'écran. Fixez-le, ne le lâchez plus du regard. Laissez pénétrer l'humour potache, laissez votre cerveau s'imprégner de cet horrible amas de gros
